This accolade is part of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) 2024, which evaluates companies based on the S&amp;P Global\u2019s Corporate Social Assessment (CSA) of their economic, environmental, and social performance. True Corporation scored 95 out of 100, the world\u2019s highest score for a telecommunications company. On this occasion, True Corporation also shared some of its key sustainability initiatives for 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mr. Manat Manavutiveth, Chief Executive Officer, True Corporation Plc\u00a0<\/strong>said, \u201cTrue Corporation has been the world\u2019s most sustainable telco for seven years now. This reflects a consistent reduction in the company\u2019s carbon emissions and increased use of renewable energy sources. Notably, True Corporation now has solar panels across over 10,000 network sites. The company has also implemented extensive recycling programs and initiatives to minimize waste.<\/p>\n<p>In 2025, True Corporation is extending its climate action to all its stakeholders through three key initiatives:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Engaging suppliers in concerted efforts<\/strong> to reduce emissions in its entire supply chain which closely aligns with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Participating suppliers already receive support from True in data collection and data validation with plans to expand their benefits through green financing in 2025.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Innovative energy management platforms<\/strong> that achieve up to 20% in greenhouse gas emissions reduction by using IoT and artificial intelligence to better predict and manage usage.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Nurturing a new generation of innovators<\/strong> to leverage technology in ways that return value to society. In 2024, True Corporation conducted \u201ce-Waste HACK BKK\u201d, a project to empower students to create tech solutions built from discarded electronics. The company is planning another hackathon for 2025.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>SOCIAL: Digital Access to Empower Society<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>True scored 99 out 100 in the social dimension of the assessment. This reflects continued investment in community development programs, focusing on education, healthcare, and digital inclusion. Enabling these programs, True\u2019s network already reaches 99% of the population on 4G and over 92% on 5G. In 2025, the company aims to complete 100% of its network modernization, increasing speed and coverage at sites nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>Building on this foundation, True is committed to transforming network availability and accessibility into digital opportunity across three platforms:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Plookpanya:<\/strong> True\u2019s flagship education initiative reaches over 32 million users per year and is continually adjusting the changing needs of students and teachers. With the rise of AI, Plookpanya is strengthening its syllabus on evergreen skills such as critical, creative and analytical thinking.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tech for Good:<\/strong> Innovative solutions that address sustainability issues in Thai society. True Corporation already has over 100 patents and drives real-world solutions such as the True Smart Early Warning System (TSEWS), which uses cutting-edge technology to monitor wild elephants and mitigate human-elephant conflict with a near 100% success rate. The company targets 125 patents within 2025.<\/li>\n<li><strong>CyberSafe:<\/strong> This new cyber protection system protects users against scammers, including protection from phishing links, scam SMS, as well as call filtering. The platform, which already protects users from over 100,000 malicious links for free, will be expanded continually, with full operations launching in March 2025.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>GOVERNANCE: New Protections for the AI Era<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>True maintains high standards of corporate governance, ensuring transparency, accountability, and ethical business practices, scoring 92 out of 100 in this dimension.\u00a0 Responding to the growing use of artificial intelligence, True Corporation was the first telecom company in Thailand to adopt the GSMA\u2019s <strong>Responsible AI Roadmap<\/strong>, in collaboration with 19 global operators. The roadmap\u2019s tools and assessments support high standards for safe, equitable and sustainable AI usage that meet the best practices globally. In early 2025, True Corporation will follow up with the launch of <strong>Responsible AI by Design<\/strong>, to ensure ethical usage of artificial intelligence throughout all its operations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mr. Manat Manavutiveth<\/strong> said, \u201cAs True Corporation continues to lead in sustainability, we remain committed to furthering our efforts in environmental conservation, social responsibility, and governance.
