Frequently Asked Questions — True CyberSafe

This service is available to telecommunications subscribers of the Company on both postpaid and prepaid plans, for individual and corporate customers, including True Online internet users. The service must be in active status. Only use the True or dtac network, or connect to True Online Wi-Fi, and you can start using it immediately.

This service cannot be used with Machine-to-Machine (M2M) connections or Internet of Things (IoT) devices.

No installation is required. Customers can use True CyberSafe immediately.

True CyberSafe is a free service for customers on the True, dtac, and True Online networks.

No registration is required for True CyberSafe. Simply use any True or dtac mobile package to access the service. For True Online customers, only the URL Protection feature is available.

The service blocks access to, or alerts users when attempting to access, potentially dangerous websites. This helps make online browsing safer and protects users from online scammers.

True CyberSafe is a basic protection service available only when connected to our network. For comprehensive protection across all networks and all devices, customers can subscribe to True CyberSafe PRO.

True CyberSafe protects against Infected Hosts, Phishing, Malware, and Viruses.

If the website is not illegal, customers may click to proceed and access the website. Please note that you must accept any risks that may occur.

Yes. Devices connected via internet sharing will also be protected by the malicious website alert service provided by True CyberSafe.

True CyberSafe cannot directly protect against cyber threats such as viruses, malware, or other threats within applications. However, if an application redirects users to a website via a browser, the service can protect against threats that occur on the website.

The service does not cover the following scenarios:

  • Devices connected via a VPN
  • Devices connected to other Wi-Fi networks
  • Accessing websites within applications

If the customer revisits the same website within 10 minutes, access will be allowed immediately. After this period, the alert will appear again as usual.

Yes. It will affect other customers on the network for 10 minutes. If any customer accepts the risk, the backend system will allow all customers to access that website for 10 minutes. Therefore, if other customers attempt to access the same malicious website during this period, they will be able to enter the site immediately without a blocking page.

If a customer accesses a malicious website before it is added to the system’s blacklist, that device may still be able to access the website for another 1–2 days.

True CyberSafe cannot remove existing viruses or malware. The service is designed to prevent devices from being infected by viruses or malware through websites.

The “TRUE CYBERSAFE” service is provided by True Internet Corporation Co., Ltd. and True Move H Universal Communication Co., Ltd. (the “Company”) to subscribers of TrueMove H, TrueOnline, and dtac (the “Users”) under the following terms and conditions:

  1. This service is available to Users who subscribe to the Company’s telecommunication services, including postpaid mobile (“postpaid”) and prepaid mobile (“prepaid”) plans, either as individual or corporate customers, as well as internet users under TrueOnline. Users must have an active service status and must not be subject to suspension or service termination for any reason.
  2. Users will receive safety notifications in the following scenarios:
    1. Blocking access to URLs subject to legal restrictions.
    2. Warning upon accessing URLs identified by the Company as potentially associated with cybercrime.
    3. Alerting Users of incoming calls suspected of being scam-related and/or potentially associated with cybercrime.
    4. Alerting Users of messages suspected of being fraudulent and/or potentially associated with cybercrime.
  3. The protection and alerts referenced in Clause 2 are based solely on preliminary analysis using the Company’s internal database and data from relevant government agencies. They do not constitute confirmation of fact. Users retain the right to access telecommunication services unless otherwise restricted by legal order.
  4. The protection and alerts referenced in Clause 2 may not cover all potentially suspicious connections due to technical and data processing limitations. Users are advised to exercise additional caution. The Company shall not be liable for any damage arising from connections that are not flagged by the alert system.
  5. The protection and alerts referenced in Clause 2.3 are supported and function fully only on devices with the following minimum operating system requirements:
    • Apple: Minimum of iOS 9 or later
    • Samsung: Minimum of Android 12 or later
    • TRUE: Minimum of Android 12 or later
    • Oppo: Minimum of Android 15 or later
    • Realme: Minimum of Android 15 or later
    • Xiaomi: Minimum of Android 15 or later
    • Honor: Minimum of Android 15 or later
    • Huawei: Minimum of EMUI 15.0.0 or later
  6. The service referenced in Clause 2.3 includes two types of alerts:
    • SMS notifications, which are supported on all devices.
    • Other system-based alerts, which are supported depending on the device specifications and operating system requirements as specified.
  7. Users are advised not to install other notification applications with similar functionality, as the service may interfere with the normal operation of the applications.
  8. Users are responsible for protecting their own personal data to prevent cyber fraud and related risks.
  9. This service applies only to connections made through the networks of True Internet Corporation Co., Ltd. and True Move H Universal Communication Co., Ltd.
  10. This service is available only when the Company’s network is able to verify the connection. It is not supported for international roaming, the use of any Virtual Private Network (VPN), custom Domain Name System (DNS) settings other than those specified by the Company, or services such as Apple Private Relay or similar services.
  11. This service does not protect connections made through applications or systems that function in similar ways.
  12. Users consent to the Company’s collection, use, and processing of personal data, such as phone numbers and accessed URLs, for cybersecurity purposes in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). The Company will not retain any personal data after processing, nor disclose such data to third parties, except as required by law or with the User’s prior consent.
  13. This service is activated automatically and does not require any manual configuration by the User.
  14. The service is provided free of charge for a duration of 12 months.
  15. The Company reserves the right to amend or modify the service as deemed appropriate, with prior notice provided to Users through channels determined by the Company.
