Wi-Fi Configuration on HUAWEI HG8247W5

Log In Configuration page

  1. Type 192.168.1.1 then press Enter
  2. User Name = admin
  3. Password = enter letters as shown in Default Password
  4. press Log In

Basic Configuration

  1. At main page, select Wi-Fi Configuration
  2. set up as follows:
    • Enable 2.4G Network : enable/ disable Wi-Fi 2.4G
    • Wi-Fi Name : name Wi-Fi 2.4G (can set new name)
    • Password : Wi-Fi password (contains 8 – 63 characters)
    • Enable 5G Network : enable/ disable Wi-Fi 5G
    • Wi-Fi Name : name Wi-Fi 5G (can set new name)
    • Password : Wi-Fi password (contains 8 – 63 characters)
    • when finished, press Save

Advanced configuration: Wi-Fi 2.4G

  1. Go to WLAN
  2. 2.4G Basic Network Settings
    • Enable WLAN : tick a check to enable Wi-Fi, remove a check to disable Wi-Fi
    • SSID Name : enter Wi-Fi name (contains 1-32 characters)
    • Enable SSID : tick a check to enable this SSID
    • Number of Associated Devices : 
    • Broadcast SSID : tick a check, if want to hide, remove a check
    • Authentication Mode : default is WPA / WPA2 PreSharedKey
    • Encryption Mode :  default is TKIP&AES
    • WPA PreSharedKey : set password (contains 8 – 63 characters)
    • Enable WPS : enable WPS, to disable it, remove a check
    • when finished, press Apply
  3. 2.4G Advanced Network Settings
    • TX Power : adjust the strength of Wi-Fi signal, by default is 100% 
    • Channel : Automatic, if Router is turned off/ on, Channel will be changed to the best channel, you can manually set the preferred Channel
    • Channel Width : add channel width this will add more Sync Speed but the connected device must support 40Mhz
    • Mode : select 802.11b/g/n , this parameter is compatible with all types
    • when finished, press Apply

Advanced configuration: Wi-Fi 5G

  1. Go to WLAN
  2. 5G Basic Network Settings
    • Enable WLAN : tick a check to enable Wi-Fi, remove a check to disable Wi-Fi
    • SSID Name : enter Wi-Fi name (contains 1-32 characters)
    • Enable SSID : tick a check to enable this SSID
    • Number of Associated Devices : 
    • Broadcast SSID : tick a check, if want to hide, remove a check
    • Authentication Mode : default is WPA / WPA2 PreSharedKey
    • Encryption Mode : default is TKIP&AES
    • WPA PreSharedKey : set password (contains 8 – 63 characters)
    • Enable WPS : enable WPS, to disable it, remove a check
    • when finished, press Apply
  3. 5G Advanced Network Settings
