Share Internet via Wi-Fi on Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro

  1. On main screen, swipe screen up
  2. Select (Settings)
  3. And then (Connections)
  4. Choose (Mobile hotspot and tethering)
  5. And then (Mobile hotspot)
  6. Check the settings
    • AndroidAP : displayed network name, can edit it
    • Password: password for connection, can edit it
  7. Notice the status: Mobile hotspot is turned off
  8. Tap a button to turn it on. A button turns blue and internet sharing sign will appear
  9. When there’s a device connected to mobile hotspot => at (CONNECTED DEVICES) name of device will appear
  10. At Notification, it’ll show the status 1 device connected
  11. To check the connected device’s information by tapping that device
  12. Device informaiton
    • IP address
    • MAC address
    • Connection time
    • Connection duration
  13. To permit WiFi access at allowed devices => tap a plus sign (+) at the right of that device
  14. Add to Allowed devices
    • Device name => can change name (but if it can’t use, recommend to use the same name as connected device)
    • MAC address 
    • Tap (ADD) at bottom right
  15. More settings > tap Menu button
  16. Menu 1 : Allowed devices
  17. At (ALLOWED DEVICES) => tap (ADD) at top right corner
  18. Add to Allowed devices :
    • Device name : name the device same as that device
    • MAC address : enter MAC address or Wi-Fi MAC of that device
    • Tap (ADD) => it’ll show that device name in a list 
  19. Menu 2 : Configure Mobile hotspot
  20. Configure Mobile hotspot : 
    • Network name
    • Hide my device
    • Security = 2 options are: 
    • Open = no password
    • WPA2 PSK = have password (by default)
    • Password : if choose Open security, this will not show
    • Show advanced options => if tap more menu will appear: 
    • Broadcast channel = set band channel from Auto, 1 – 11 to prevent the interference of sharing network (Auto : default)
    • PMF : Off by default
  21. Menu 3 : Timeout settings
  22. Timeout settings = set time to turn off mobile hotspot, if there’s no connected device : 
    • Never timeout
    • 5 minutes / 10 minutes / 20 minutes (default) / 30 minutes and 60 minutes
