Krabi, November 5, 2026 – True Corporation continues to develop its 5G network across Thailand to enhance connectivity experiences and meet the diverse needs of customers in different locations, from major cities, business districts, industrial areas and rural communities to tourist destinations, islands and sea routes. Through TRUE5GX, the company is enhancing network speed, capacity and service performance to support growing data demand. In parallel, True is focusing on engineering and optimization of the network using AI with the concept of  Network Digital Twin, a technology that creates a virtual representation of the physical telecommunications network to simulate scenarios, assess potential impacts and identify opportunities for network improvement before physical deployment. This initiative lays the foundation for the future development of an Autonomous Network, with the aim of improving network efficiency and delivering better connectivity experiences to customers nationwide.

Mr. Khurrum Ashfaque, Chief Network Officer of True Corporation Public Company Limited, said, “Our goal is not simply to expand 5G coverage, but to develop a network that responds more effectively to how customers use connectivity and supports their constantly evolving lifestyles. Today, customers are consuming significantly more data, while different locations have different connectivity needs. True is therefore focused on enhancing network speed, capacity, reliability and management by combining advanced 5G technologies with data analytics and AI to deliver better connectivity experiences to customers across Thailand.”

True currently serves 48.8 million mobile subscriptions, including 20.5 million 5G subscriptions, as of the third quarter of 2026. Average mobile data consumption has continued to increase, reaching approximately 38 GB per subscriber per month in the first half of 2026, representing growth of around 35% compared with the period before the amalgamation. This reflects growing demand for network speed, capacity and reliable connectivity to support customers’ digital lifestyles.

True Corporation is continuing to develop TRUE5GX using 5G Standalone (SA) technology to enhance data transmission efficiency. True’s network is ready to support 2CC, 3CC and 4CC Carrier Aggregation, a technology that combines multiple frequency carriers to increase network speed and capacity. The company has already introduced 2CC and 3CC services for customers. Network tests have demonstrated the potential to improve speed and capacity, particularly in high-traffic areas, while maximizing the efficiency of its existing spectrum resources. TRUE5GX also features “Priority Access,” enabling customers to access 5G more reliably, even during periods of heavy network traffic, for faster and more consistent connectivity.

Highlighting Network Twin to Enhance Network Planning and Connectivity Quality

Another key direction in True Corporation’s network development is Network Twin, which creates a virtual representation of the physical telecommunications network. This technology enables detailed network visualization, analysis and simulation across key components, including the Radio Network, Core Network and Transport Network.

Network Twin can be compared to Google Maps, which uses real-world information to create a digital map. Instead of representing roads and cities, Network Twin creates a digital representation of the telecommunications network, enabling engineers to analyze and evaluate network development options before implementing changes in the physical network.

Unlike conventional Network Monitoring systems, which primarily track network status and alert operators to problems, Network Twin focuses on simulating scenarios to assess the potential impact of network changes. These may include adding base stations, adjusting spectrum utilization or expanding capacity in areas with high data traffic. In addition, Network Twin can identify potential risks and predict future network failures, allowing operators to take preventive actions, leading to improved operational efficiency, enhanced reliability, and a better customer experience.

Mr. Khurrum added, “Network Twin will serve as an important foundation for transforming how True manages its network, moving beyond monitoring and troubleshooting toward simulating and evaluating scenarios before making changes in the real network. This will allow us to compare options, assess potential impacts and identify opportunities to optimize network performance more effectively, including signal quality, capacity, spectrum utilization and energy efficiency. Ultimately, it will help us plan network improvements more precisely and deliver services that better meet customer needs.”

Developing Four Core Capabilities for Intelligent Network Management

True Corporation is working toward the development of Network Twin and its evolution into a Simulation & Intelligence Layer, built around four core capabilities:

  1. Network Simulation: Simulating network coverage, capacity, interference and energy efficiency.
  2. Operational Impact Assessment: Evaluating potential impacts on network performance, service reliability, resource efficiency and operational risks.
  3. Opportunity Identification: Identifying opportunities for capacity expansion, improved spectrum utilization, interference reduction and energy savings.
  4. Decision Intelligence: Comparing scenarios and alternative approaches to support prioritization and validate proposed changes before implementation or further investment.

These capabilities are expected to help True plan network expansion and optimization more systematically, reduce risks associated with network changes and improve resource utilization. The capabilities remain part of an ongoing development roadmap and will be enhanced progressively.

Connecting Network Twin with Nano Cluster to Meet Local Connectivity Needs

True also aims to integrate Network Twin into its Nano Cluster strategy, which focuses on managing network performance according to customer usage patterns and demand in smaller, localized areas. Connectivity requirements vary considerably between business districts, factories, residential communities and tourist destinations.

For example, in Krabi and other tourist destinations across Southern Thailand, network traffic fluctuates with seasonal travel patterns and visitor numbers. Network Twin will support scenario simulations to evaluate capacity expansion, coverage improvements and the prioritization of network enhancements according to the specific needs of each location.

This approach aligns with True’s ongoing efforts to strengthen connectivity from major cities to islands and sea routes, particularly across key tourist destinations in the Andaman Sea. True has installed and launched 5G services at Maya Bay on the Phi Phi Islands, using Microwave Backhaul technology to connect the base station to the main network without laying fiber-optic cables in the protected area. The equipment has also been designed to blend into the natural surroundings, helping enhance connectivity experiences for visitors while minimizing environmental impact.

True Corporation remains committed to continuously strengthening its 5G network and improving overall network performance. By integrating AI and Network Twin into network planning and management, the company aims to deliver connectivity experiences that better meet the diverse needs of customers across Thailand.
