Songkhla, July 17, 2026 – True Corporation and the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) are collaborating to strengthen Thailand’s telecommunications infrastructure through a comprehensive plan to enhance the resilience of mobile base stations and communications networks, ensuring continuous services during emergencies and natural disasters. True Corporation is also participating in the National Crisis Management Exercise 2026, organized by the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), to strengthen emergency communications preparedness and support effective disaster response and government operations during times of crisis.

As part of this initiative, True Corporation and NBTC conducted a joint field visit to Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, to assess and develop measures to strengthen the preparedness of mobile base stations for emergency situations. Drawing on lessons learned from the major floods that affected the area last year, the two organizations are developing preventive measures to ensure communications networks remain operational even under crisis conditions. The best practices established through this initiative will also be adapted for deployment in other flood-prone provinces across Thailand, including Nan, Chiang Rai, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, and others.

Mr. Narupon Rattanasamaharn, Head of Regulatory and Government Affairs Division at True Corporation Plc., together with the company’s network engineering team, joined Mr. Sutisak Tantayotin, NBTC Deputy Secretary-General for Telecommunications, and NBTC officials on the site visit to jointly review measures to strengthen the resilience of communications infrastructure and ensure efficient and uninterrupted services during emergencies and disasters.

The enhancement plan focuses on strengthening Thailand’s telecommunications infrastructure through improved disaster preparedness at mobile base stations in high-risk areas, enhanced backup power systems, additional flood protection measures, diversified network redundancy, and the readiness of personnel and equipment to respond rapidly around the clock. These measures are designed to maintain uninterrupted communications services under all circumstances.

The initiative aims to enhance the resilience of Thailand’s telecommunications infrastructure by improving its ability to withstand and recover from unexpected disasters. This will help ensure uninterrupted communications, emergency alerts, inter-agency coordination, and public assistance, enabling critical services to continue operating effectively even during major crises.

In addition, True Corporation participated in the National Crisis Management Exercise 2026, organized by the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), to test the readiness of communications systems, strengthen coordination among government agencies, and support communications operations in a nationwide crisis simulation. The exercise will further enhance Thailand’s preparedness to respond to future disasters and emergency situations.
