A smart home should not make life more complicated. It should make life easier, safer, and more intuitive. And today, a home is no longer designed only around the people who live inside it. For many Thai families, it also includes the pets who have quietly become part of the family.
That is why AI Pet Care, a new smart-living solution from TrueX, feels like more than another smart-home product. It responds to a simple but very human question: How can technology help us care better for the ones who cannot speak?
In Thailand, pets are no longer seen only as animals kept at home. They are companions, emotional anchors, daily routines, and for many people, family members.
This shift is not only emotional. It is also economic
Thailand’s pet market is projected to reach 60.4 billion baht in 2025, with approximately 3.5 million dogs and 2 million cats. But the more interesting signal is not just the size of the market. It is how people spend.
General pet ownership spending is estimated at around 7,745 baht per year, while pet-humanization spending can rise to around 55,000 baht per year. This tells us something important. Pet parents are no longer looking only for food, toys, grooming, or basic accessories. They are looking for solutions that help them understand, protect, monitor, and stay connected with their pets — especially when they are not at home.
That is where AI Pet Care comes in
At the core of the solution is AI-powered visual intelligence through compatible smart cameras.
The system can detect and classify everyday pet behaviors such as eating, drinking, grooming, yawning, playing, and interacting with humans. It can also help identify behaviors that may be risky or abnormal, such as chewing furniture, biting cables, chasing tails, or fighting with other pets.
For pet parents, these are not small details. They are the missing moments of the day. What happened while I was away? Did my pet eat normally? Was there any unusual behavior?
Is this just playfulness, or something I should pay attention to? AI Pet Care organizes these moments into highlight albums, activity timelines, statistics, reports, and AI-powered recommendations. In other words, it does not only record what happened. It helps pet parents make sense of what happened. But the real value of AI Pet Care is not that it adds one more device to the home. Its value is that it turns existing devices into a more intelligent service. That distinction matters.
For years, many smart-home products have been understood mainly as hardware: a camera, a tracker, a speaker, a sensor, or another connected device. Each product may work. But many of them work separately. Different apps. Different interfaces. Different data points. Different experiences. The result is often fragmentation. AI Pet Care points in a different direction.
The camera becomes the entry point, but intelligence becomes the service
Visual AI detects behavior. Cloud services process information. The TrueX platform organizes the experience. Voice and smart-assistant capabilities can make interaction more natural, especially in Thai. Over time, more devices can be connected so that information flows more seamlessly across the home.
This is where the partnership with T3 Technology and Tuya becomes important. Through its strong partnership with Tuya, one of the world’s largest smart-home platforms by device count, and T3 Technology’s co-development of Home AI model, TrueX can build on an existing ecosystem of compatible devices already deployed in Thailand. That gives AI Pet Care a broader foundation than a standalone product. It becomes part of a larger smart-living infrastructure. But the story is not only about technology.
It is also about the people behind it
AI Pet Care began with True Paw a group of young talents who came together through the CP Exponential Surge 2024 program CP Group’s internal initiative designed to give talented employees the mandate, mentorship, and freedom to think like founders.
Their starting point was not: “What technology can we sell?” It was: “What problem is worth solving?” That difference matters.
The team saw a growing pet-parent segment in Thailand. More importantly, they understood a universal truth: pets cannot speak. When owners are away from home, they worry. When they return, they may have missed important moments. When behavior changes, they may not know whether it is normal, risky, or worth attention. That became the team’s opportunity.
According to Patchara Vanthongkam, Head of Digital Home Business, True Corporation Plc. the development journey was not simply about importing advanced technology and translating it into Thai. The harder task was combining global AI and IoT capabilities with Thai context.
Thai pet parents live in different types of homes. Some live in condominiums. Some live in detached houses. Some pets stay indoors; others move between indoor and outdoor spaces. Some families have more than one pet. Some already own smart cameras. Some may not want to buy expensive new hardware just to access advanced features. These realities shaped the product and the go-to-market thinking.
Rather than asking customers to replace everything they already own, AI Pet Care is designed as a service or subscription layer that can work with compatible devices. Put simply, customers are not only buying a camera. They are buying intelligence. AI capability. Cloud service. Behavior analytics. Recommendations. A more integrated experience. This is where AI Pet Care becomes larger than one product.
It reflects a strategic shift in TrueX’s business model: from a hardware-based model to an intelligence-and-subscription model. Hardware still matters. But it is no longer the end point.
It becomes the access point into recurring services, richer customer experience, and continuous product improvement. This also connects directly to True’s broader telco-tech ambition.
A telco-tech company does not define itself only by connectivity.
Connectivity remains the foundation. But the real opportunity is to build intelligent services on top of it — services that combine network capability, AI, data, cloud, devices, platforms, and customer trust into practical everyday value.AI Pet Care is a concrete example of that shift.
It bridges high-tech vision and human value. It shows how TrueX can move from being a product vendor to becoming a provider of connected intelligence.
It also shows how young Thai talent can turn customer insight into a viable business case.
AI is no longer a distant technology concept. It becomes an intuitive household service that elevates daily care. And this may only be the beginning.
Pet care may be the first strong use case, but the same logic can extend further into smart living: home safety, elderly care, energy management, family monitoring, appliance automation, security, wellness, and everyday assistance through Thai-language AI.That is why AI Pet Care is not only a pet-care solution.
It is a signal of where TrueX can go next. From device to service. From hardware to intelligence. From smart home to smarter living. And perhaps most importantly, from technology that simply connects devices to technology that understands real life.
