Set up Wireless on AP D-Link DIR-895L
Diagram connection between Modem + AP D-Link + Computer
- Open a Browser, type 192.168.0.1 > do not enter the password > press Login
- Go to Settings > Wireless
- Enable Smart Connect
- Smart Connect : select Enable, it’ll show only 1 SSID name and AP will auto choose for device to get 2.4GHz or 5GHz
- Wi-Fi Name (SSID) : enter preferred name
- Password : contain at least 8 characters but not more than 32 characters
- Advanced Settings : when click, tab for more settings will appear
- Security Mode :
- Select None when don’t want to enter Wireless password
- Select WPA/WPA2-Personal : set password contains at least 8 characters but not more than 32 characters
- WPS-PBC Status : select Enabled to enable WPS , Disable to disable
- WPS-PIN Status : select Locked to turn off, select Unlock to turn on
- On completed, press SAVE
- Disable Smart Connect : if Smart Connect is disabled, it’ll show 3 Wireless names
- 2.4GHz
- 5GHz (Low Band : CH ten digit)
- 5GHz (High Band : CH hundred digit)
- WPS
- 2.4GHz
- Disabled Wireless 2.4GHz > Status choose Disable > press SAVE
- Enabled Wireless 2.4GHz
- Status : select Enabled
- Wi-Fi Name(SSID) : enter preferred name
- Password : contain at least 8 characters but not more than 32 characters
- Advanced Settings : when click, tab for more settings will appear
- Security Mode : Select None if don’t want set Wireless password or select WPA/WPA2-Personal and set the password contains at least 8 characters but not more than 32 characters
- 802.11 Mode : select preferred Mode (by default is mixed Mode)
- Wi-Fi Channel :choose preferred Channel (if choose Auto, when AP is turned off-on, AP will auto choose suitable Channel in that area)
- Visibility Status : choose Visible, Invisible is chosen when want to hide network name
- Once completed, press SAVE
- 5GHz (Low Band : CH ten digit)
- Disabled Wireless 5GHz > Status select Disable > press SAVE
- Enabled Wireless 5GHz
- Status : select Enabled

- Wi-Fi Guest Zone :is the mode to share network name for Internet connection only, cannot configure AP > on Wireless page, click Guest Zone
- Guest Zone
- Status : by default is Disabled, or choose Enabled to enable
- Wi-Fi Name (SSID) : enter preferred name
- Password : contain at least 8 characters but not more than 32 characters
- Internet Access Only : select Enabled to allow the Internet usage but not allow connected device to configure AP
- Once completed, press SAVE
